A Heart for Service: Celebrating Ms. Iris

At the Apostles’ House, the heart of our work is reflected in the people who serve our community every day. This quarter, we are proud to highlight Ms. Iris Yanta, our Program Coordinator, whose dedication and compassion have supported women and families for the past 12 years.

The people we serve truly need the services we offer. I’m grateful that we are able to provide them with the support and resources they need. - Iris Yanta, Program Coordinator

Before joining The Apostles’ House, Ms. Iris had worked at another job for seven years. During that time, she felt a calling to do more meaningful work and prayed for an opportunity to serve in the field of social services. When the opportunity to join The Apostles’ House opened, she saw it as the answer to that prayer.

Ms. Iris began her journey with us as a Residential Aide, working directly with women and families in our shelter. Over the years, her commitment to helping others and her deep understanding of our clients’ needs led her to grow into her current role as Program Coordinator, where she now oversees several key programs including Ryan White services, the Be the Key workforce program, and Rapid Rehousing

Her passion for people continues to be what motivates her each day. Ms. Iris believes deeply in the mission of The Apostles’ House and in the importance of the services we provide to families facing difficult circumstances.

“The people we serve truly need the services we offer,” she shares. “I’m grateful that we are able to provide them with the support and resources they need.”

Whether she is helping a family navigate housing resources, coordinating support services, or assisting community members who come to our doors in need, Ms. Iris approaches her work with compassion and a genuine desire to help others move toward stability and hope.

We are grateful for Ms. Iris and the care she brings to our community every day.
