At The Apostles’ House, we serve families others may turn away — providing safe shelter, compassionate care, and essential support.
It costs $13,140 to support one person for an average 6-month stay. That doesn’t even include meals, job training, or the life-changing programs we offer beyond the bed.
Your gift helps us keep the doors open, the lights on, and hope alive.
A little each month goes a very long way.
Monthly gifts help us plan ahead, respond to urgent needs, and sustain vital services year-round. Whether it’s $25 or $250, your ongoing support creates lasting change for women and children experiencing homelessness.

When making a grant recommendation through your donor-advised fund (DAF) account, search for the Apostles’ House either by name or by EIN 22-2482774. If you want to designate your gift to a specific purpose, such as Emergency Shelters for Women & Children enter that designation by whatever method your account supports. The DAF administrator will distribute funds to the Apostles’ House with a cover letter that includes your designation.
Help us create safe and dignified living spaces for those in need. By adopting one of our rooms, or transitional apartments you’ll be making a meaningful impact in the lives of those who call it home.
Your donations help us provide dignity and daily essentials to women, children, and families in need.
We are always in need of nonperishable food, hygiene products, and PPE supplies to support the families in our shelter and the patrons of our Life Pantry. Organize a drive or drop off canned goods, dried foods, soap, deodorant, masks, and more — every item helps restock our shelves and nourish our community.

- We do not accept used toys, clothing, or used disposable items (e.g., towels, sheets).
- Furniture and equipment are accepted only as needed.

I would like to say that The Apostles' House has helped me in ways I didn’t expect. I greatly appreciate all the hard work, time and energy that the staff, volunteers, and others put into helping us in our time of need. They are very resourceful and persistent to help you achieve your goals. Even though it’s a shelter they made it feel like a home setting. In closing, I would like to say thank you to all the staff, volunteers, donors, and others for the much-needed assistance, time, and support.
In 2018, I was a resident of The Apostles’ House Women and Children Emergency Shelter for seven months. During my stay in the shelter, I found a support system within Miss Victoria and Miss Iris. They provided the guidance, support, and resources I needed to regain control of my life, even during the times I rebelled against it. Through it all, they showed great love and concern, and to their credit, I was able to enroll my son in childcare so that I could focus on finding and securing employment. Today I am employed and living on my own with my son. I still experience many challenges, however, I continue to take the steps necessary to maintain a life for me and my son
