Newark’s Grant Street Dedicated to The Apostles’ House

In a heartfelt ceremony, on Tuesday, August 27th, the City of Newark NJ paid tribute to The Apostles’ House by dedicating Grant Street in their honor. This significant recognition comes as The Apostles’ House celebrates its 40th year of service to the community.

The dedication was marked by a surprise announcement made by Council President LaMonica McIver, joined by Councilwoman-at-Large Louise Scott-Roundtree and Councilman-at-Large C. Lawrence Crump. Together, they presented a resolution to Nadege Duvernay, Executive Director of The Apostles’ House, acknowledging the organization’s decades of impactful work.

The highlight of the event was the unveiling of the new street sign on Grant Street, where The Apostles’ House operates several key buildings at 16-18, 22, and 28-30. The dedication of Grant Street not only celebrates the legacy of “The Apostles’ House Way,” but also cements its place as a cornerstone of support and hope in the Newark community.

This honor is a testament to the unwavering commitment of The Apostles’ House staff, volunteers and donors to serving those in need and underscores the profound impact the organization has had on countless lives over the past four decades.
