The Apostles’ House Receives $100,000 Grant from Prudential Foundation to Expand “Be the Key” Program

We are thrilled to announce that The Apostles’ House has been awarded a generous $100,000 grant from the Prudential Foundation—exceeding our initial request of $80,000! This incredible support will allow us to expand our Be the Key program, which is designed to empower women who are experiencing homelessness with essential job training skills to help ensure personal growth and stability.

A Special Initiative for a Historic Milestone

This year Prudential will celebrate its 150th anniversary, marking a century and a half of commitment to communities like Newark. In conjunction with this milestone, Prudential launched a special initiative of one-time grants to organizations addressing homelessness in Newark. Given The Apostles’ House’s proven track record of supporting homeless and at-risk women and children, we were honored to be selected as a recipient of this transformative funding.

Unlocking Hope, One Key at a Time

At The Apostles’ House, we believe that every individual deserves the opportunity to build a stable and self-sufficient future. Be the Key is designed to equip our clients with the tools they need to break the cycle of homelessness through financial literacy, workforce development, and securing stable housing. With this increased funding from Prudential Foundation, we can strengthen our program’s reach and provide even more comprehensive support to those in need.

Prudential Foundation has long been a champion of social impact, and their investment in our work is a testament to their unwavering commitment to uplifting underserved communities. Their generous contribution will directly support. “We are deeply appreciative of the Prudential Foundation’s support and belief in our work, said Apostles’ House Executive Director Nadege Duvernay. This funding will help us enhance our impact, ensuring that even more families have access to the resources they need to succeed.”

Join Us in Celebrating This Milestone!

This grant is a game-changer for The Apostles’ House and the communities we serve. We invite our supporters, donors, and partners to join us in celebrating this milestone and continuing our shared commitment to empowering those in need.
